Professional Biography
Maya Hall is a WERK Research Assistant at NASA Ames Research Center. She is currently supporting data labeling and development of the Individual Tree Monitoring Product. With a background in ecology, Earth science, and community engagement, Maya has led interdisciplinary projects and contributed to research that connects end users and practitioners with the science, tools, and technology that they need to achieve their goals.
Previously, she served as the Impact Analysis Fellow for the NASA DEVELOP Program, where she analyzed program metrics to identify areas of project and partner impact. Additionally, she has held roles at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, the National Audubon Society, and environmental nonprofits in the Washington, D.C. area. Maya’s research interests include forest dynamics under instances of disturbance, the effects of shifting climatic variables on forest demography, and the convergence of biodiversity with human activity in the face of altered or intensified land use changes.
