Gov’t says fines, demolitions of illegal structures doubled y-o-y in 1H

The Land and Urban Construction Bureau (DSSCU) announced that it had opened 433 cases involving unauthorized construction work in the first half (1H) of this year. Additionally, there were another 533 cases in which owners voluntarily removed unauthorized structures following notifications from the bureau. DSSCU noted that these figures had generally doubled compared with the same period last year, with voluntary demolitions more than doubling the full-year figure from 2025 (241).
