Motorcyclist dies in Tai Po traffic accident

A motorcyclist has died after being run over by a car in Tai Po on Thursday evening.

Police received a report at 7.38pm that the 39-year-old man was riding along Tolo Highway towards Sha Tin when he lost control of his motorcycle near Ha Wun Yiu.

He fell off his bike and was hit by a car.

The victim was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries and was certified dead at 8.52pm.

Police have arrested the 54-year-old private car driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
