PH banks hope for new yield curve benchmark by year-end

MANILA, Philippines — The domestic banking industry expects to launch a new standard yield curve before end-2026 to provide a more reliable reference for debt pricing than the current gauge. Bankers Association of the Philippines secretary Paul Favila said the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) supports the initiative, with regulators and banks collating historical data to build confidence in the new benchmark.
