CDO lawmakers eye new safety ordinance after student ‘shooting threat’

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — This city’s councilors are drafting a new ordinance to fortify campus security following recent “shooting threats” made by a student on Monday, as local education officials urge the public to stop circulating sensitive online content involving minors. To effectively address the security issue and establish appropriate interventions, the City Council’s Committee on Public Order and Safety and the Committee on Education will conduct a joint hearing.
