Spain Condemns Settler Violence in West Bank, Urges Israel to Act

Spain on Sunday strongly condemned settler violence in the occupied West Bank, saying attacks against Palestinian civilians are being carried out with impunity.
In a statement, the Spanish government said a recent wave of escalating violence included an indiscriminate attack that killed four Palestinian civilians.
Spain called on Israel to take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation and ensure those responsible are held accountable, while urging an end to settlement expansion and to what it described as protection for perpetrators of violence against Palestinian civilians.
The government stressed that Israel, as the occupying power, is obligated under international law to uphold its responsibilities and take concrete measures to prevent further attacks.
Spain also reaffirmed its commitment to a two-state solution, saying it would continue to hold accountable any parties whose actions undermine the prospects for achieving it. ...
