Meta platforms down?

Users of Meta Platforms’ social media services reported experiencing issues with Instagram and Facebook late Wednesday, July 22, as thousands of outage reports poured into monitoring website Downdetector. Many users took to other social media platforms to ask whether Instagram was down after encountering problems sending and receiving Direct Messages (DMs).  Others reported that conversations failed to load, while some said posts and stories were not refreshing properly.
