Phone a friend: Trump tells Marcos he will raise PH’ concerns with Xi

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had a phone conversation with United States President Donald Trump on Thursday evening, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). “President Trump assured President Marcos that he will take up the concerns of the Philippines in his next meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping,” the PCO said in a statement. The call was also confirmed by US Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Lipton. “One of my goals as US Ambassador to the Philippines is to ensure our two leaders are regularly in touch with each other.
