The Israeli army announced that the shooting and killing of the Israeli settler that took place in the occupied West Bank earlier this morning was "unplanned."

In its initial investigation, the Israeli military attributed the main cause of the incident to the Israeli settlers who crossed into an off-limits area in the occupied West Bank without coordination with the Israeli forces, leading to clashes with Palestinians.
