Timor-Leste’s Aseanapol membership endorsed at PH-hosted meet

MANILA, Philippines — Timor-Leste has been endorsed as the 11th member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Chiefs of Police (Aseanapol), a move the Philippine National Police (PNP) said would strengthen the region’s collective response to transnational crime. In a statement on Sunday, the PNP said the endorsement was among the key outcomes of the 44th Aseanapol Conference hosted by the Philippines. The endorsement still awaits formal adoption through a joint communique before taking effect. Once admitted, Timor-Leste will become Aseanapol’s 11th member state.
