A tourist has reported an alleged taxi scam in Prague, claiming that a journey from Old Town Square to Prague Main Railway Station ended with an unexpectedly high fare and a disputed payment. The incident reportedly took place on July 25 at around 16:15. According to the complaint, the driver charged CZK 980 for the ride, an amount the passenger said was far higher than the expected price for such a short distance. The tourist claims that the driver refused to accept payment by card and requested cash instead. “I paid him 100 Euros for the fare. He just took the note, swapped it and lied to me saying what I gave was 100 in Czech currency, and demanded me to pay the remaining 50 euro taxi fare,” the tourist said in his complaint. “So I paid the initial 100 euro that was swapped, plus the 50 euro taxi fare.” According to the passenger, the total amount paid for the ride was therefore €150 (over 3,600 CZK). He said he was rushing to catch a train to Bratislava and was unable to resolve the dispute at the scene. The tourist also claimed that no receipt was provided after the payment....
