Visakhapatnam, At least six workers of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (Vizag Steel Plant) were killed here on Monday after molten iron spilt on them, officials said.According to the information shared with Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav by Visakhapatnam district health officials, till 6.30 pm on Monday, the bodies of four people out of the six dead have reached the steel plant's general hospital."A total of six casualties reported to the steel plant's general hospital," an official press release said."We are undertaking rescue operations," an official told PTI earlier.A press release from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's office said multiple workers were killed in the industrial accident. Naidu expressed deep anguish over the deaths. He directed that all departments should work in coordination to extend help.According to the police, molten iron spilt while being moved in a bucket by a crane.Police said the molten iron was extremely hot at about 1,600 degrees Celsius.
Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and determine any safety lapses

In Antwerpen zijn vijf juweliers opgepakt voor het doorverkopen van gestolen juwelen en het omsmelten van gestolen goud. In totaal zijn bij de politieactie in België en Frankrijk negentien verdachten opgepakt. De juweliers kwamen in beeld in een groter onderzoek naar inbrekers- en zakkenrollersbendes in Frankrijk. De politie kwam erachter dat de bendes hun gestolen sieraden, diamanten, horloges en andere edelmetalen naar Charleroi smokkelden. Tussen september 2025 en mei van dit jaar zagen de onderzoekers hoe twee bendes meerdere keren per week vanuit de omgeving Parijs naar Charleroi reden. De criminelen verstopten de buit in verborgen ruimtes in de auto's. Ze reden in groepen, voor elkaar uit om eventuele politiecontroles te kunnen opmerken en ontwijken. Diamantwijk Vanuit Charleroi ging de buit naar Antwerpen waar de spullen door tussenpersonen werden verkocht in de diamantwijk, het hart van de Antwerpse diamantsector waar jaarlijks voor miljarden aan diamanten en juwelen wordt verhandeld. De vijf juweliers werden eind mei gearresteerd. Bij een van de huiszoekingen vond de politie twee smeltmachines en materiaal om juwelen uit elkaar te halen. Daarnaast werden zes kilo omgesmolten goud, een zilverstaaf, oude juwelen, diamanten, tientallen dure horloges en ruim 60.000 euro cash in beslag genomen. Bij die invallen vond de politie ook blanco certificaten van de luxe horlogemerken Rolex en Audemars Piguet. Criminele organisatie Naast de juweliers werden in België nog vijf anderen opgepakt, onder wie twee vrouwen die volgens justitie behoren tot "de entourage van een tussenpersoon". Zij worden verdacht van heling en deelname aan een criminele organisatie. In Frankrijk waren negen arrestaties. Bij huiszoekingen daar werden bijna 10.000 euro aan contant geld, apparatuur om sieraden te maken en luxeartikelen gevonden.
